Pergamon Tour Starting from Kuşadası or Ephesus

You will be picked up from Kuşadası, Selçuk, Izmir hotels, Izmir Airport, Izmir Port, or Izmir Bus Terminal to begin your Pergamon Tour. After a 3.5-hour drive, you will reach Pergamon. Pergamon Acropolis: Known for the Zeus Altar, whose ruins can still be seen today, the Acropolis is perched high above the plain, offering a unique panoramic view. The narrow and steep theater on the hillside could seat up to 10,000 people. Pergamon was also where parchment paper was first produced. During the visit, you will explore the remains of the Great Library, which once rivaled the famous Library of Alexandria in Egypt, the palaces of the kings, and the Temple of Trajan. Next, you will enjoy a lunch break at a local restaurant, where you can taste traditional Turkish cuisine and relax before continuing the tour. After lunch, you will visit the Asclepion, recognized as one of the earliest centers of medical science. Galen, one of the most famous physicians of ancient times, treated patients here. Note: The drive from Izmir or Kuşadası to Pergamon takes approximately 3 hours each way. You will arrive in Pergamon around noon and spend about 3 to 4 hours, including the lunch break, exploring the site. Afterward, the return journey to Izmir or Kuşadası will also take around 3 hours.
