Day Trip from Izmir to Pamukkale
This itinerary allows for plenty of time to explore the various attractions at Pamukkale and Hierapolis, including the Necropolis, Roman Baths, and Antique Pool. It also includes a lunch break and some free time to explore on your own. It is a full-day tour, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
Pamukkale Day Trip Itinerary:
7:30 am – Pick up from your hotel in Izmir
11:00 am – Arrival in Pamukkale (travel time from Izmir: approximately 3.5 hours)
11:00 am – 12:00 pm – Visit the Hierapolis Ancient City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient city was founded by the kings of Pergamon in the 2nd century BC and was a popular spa town in Roman times. It features a well-preserved amphitheater, the temple of Apollo, and the Necropolis.
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm – Visit the Travertines, a series of terraced basins filled with hot springs and mineral-rich water. The water cascades down the terraces, creating a natural “cotton castle” effect. You can walk along the terraces.
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm – Lunch at a local Turkish restaurant.
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Visit the Roman Baths, which are located near the Travertines. These baths were built in the 2nd century AD and feature a series of hot and cold pools, as well as a sauna and massage rooms.
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm – At the end of the guided tour, you will have some free time to explore the area on your own. As an option, you may choose to swim in the Pamukkale antique pools (at your own expense) during this free time.

8:00 pm – Arrival back in Izmir and drop off at your hotel. END OF OUR SERVICE and TOURS.
