5-Day Private Tour of Amman, Dead Sea, Wadi Rum and Petra

When your flight arrives at Amman Queen Alia International Airport, a local representative will meet you holding a sign with your name. They'll assist you with visa formalities before you collect your luggage.

Then you'll take a private transfer to your hotel in Amman, a journey of about 40 km. You'll travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking driver. Keep your passport and travel documents handy for arrival formalities and hotel check-in.

After check-in, the rest of the day is yours, with no scheduled sightseeing. Any walking during your free time is up to you, so pack comfortable shoes if you'd like to explore. No meals are included today; you can choose a local restaurant for dinner at your own expense.

After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your Amman hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Your English-speaking driver will take you on a panoramic tour of Amman, formerly known as Philadelphia. You'll see downtown's Roman Theater, Citadel, traditional markets, churches, and mosques before continuing to the modern city.

Next, head to Jerash to explore its Roman streets, theaters, and temples of Zeus and Artemis. You'll walk along the colonnaded street and through the oval plaza. Wear comfortable walking shoes for exploring the ruins, and bring sun protection.

Then continue to the Dead Sea, a region associated with the biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah. You'll have free time at a private beach area for a swim or float and time to relax. Bring your swimsuit for this part of the day.

We'll return you to Amman for the night, completing a route of approximately 245 kilometers. Breakfast is included today; lunch, dinner, and drinks aren't included.

After breakfast at your Amman hotel, you'll head to Wadi Rum in your private air-conditioned vehicle. Your English-speaking driver will handle today's route, covering about 425 kilometers from Amman through Wadi Rum to Petra.

You'll explore the dunes on an included two-hour 4x4 jeep ride. This southern Jordan desert has sandstone mountains, valleys, and natural rock arches. Bring sun protection and wear comfortable shoes for the desert terrain.

After the jeep ride, you'll continue to Petra for the night. Breakfast is included today; lunch, dinner, and drinks aren't included.

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll set out to visit Petra, the city carved into sandstone by the Nabataeans. Your private local English-speaking guide is included for 2.5 hours only, not the full day.

You'll walk through the Siq, a gorge stretching about 1.5 kilometers between sandstone cliffs. At the final bend, the Treasury, locally called El-Khazneh, comes into view. Stop for photos of its colonnaded façade, carved directly into the cliff.

Continue to Petra Church, reworked by the Byzantines, and explore the Royal Tombs above the valley floor. You'll look inside the tombs and visit the amphitheater. There's more walking beyond the Siq, so wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water and sun protection.

Later, your English-speaking driver will take you back to Amman in your private air-conditioned vehicle. Today's route covers about 245 kilometers, with an overnight in Amman.
