Around 12:15 PM, you'll stop in Eceabat or Çanakkale for lunch, which is included. Expect a simple Turkish set menu, often soup, salad, grilled chicken, köfte, or a similar main dish. Drinks are not included, so keep some Turkish lira or a card handy.
After lunch, around 1:30 PM, your private guide will take you into The Ancient City of Troy. You'll spend roughly two hours on site, walking over uneven paths, gravel, and stone surfaces. You'll see the wooden Trojan Horse, Sacrificial Altars of Troy, Bronze Age walls, excavation areas, and Troy I through to Troy IX.
Around 3:30 PM, your guide will point out The Bouleuterion of Troy and The Odeon of Troy. Walking is moderate, about 1 to 1.5 miles total, with steps and little shade in summer. Wear comfortable shoes, and bring water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a light jacket outside summer.
