Itinerary
Troy Day Trip from Istanbul
At 6:00 AM, you'll be picked up from the Taksim area, or around 6:30 AM from Sultanahmet. Pickup is from your hotel or a set meeting point on Istanbul's European side. You'll ride in a shared air-conditioned van, minibus, or bus, depending on group size.
The drive to Eceabat is about 320 km and usually takes five and a half to six hours with short comfort stops. Traffic leaving Istanbul can be slow, especially on busy travel dates. Around 12:20 PM, you'll arrive in Eceabat for an included lunch at a local restaurant, with a vegetarian option if you request it in advance.
At 1:00 PM, your guide starts the fully guided Troy tour. You'll continue to The Ancient City of Troy, where the walking route covers roughly 1.5 to 2 km on uneven stone, gravel, and packed earth. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat, sunglasses, water, and a light jacket for the evening return.
At the site, you'll see the **Trojan Horse**, Sacrificial Altars of Troy, the 3,700-year-old city walls, and Houses of Troy I. Your guide also points out The Bouleuterion of Troy, The Odeon of Troy, active excavation areas when visible, and Troy I through to Troy IX. You'll have roughly two hours at the archaeological site.
Around 6:00 PM, you'll leave the Troy area and start the return drive to Istanbul. Dinner is not included, so bring snacks or buy something during a rest stop.
