4-Day Cappadocia Tour from Istanbul (by flight)
Overview
Cappadocia’s rock-cut churches, underground cities, and valley trails are within reach of Istanbul by flight. Over four days, you’ll explore with your guide and fellow travelers, from the mushroom-shaped pinnacles of Pasabag Valley to the caves and churches of Zelve Open Air Museum. Avanos brings pottery traditions into the picture, while the area around Uchisar Castle offers views across the landscape. You’ll also head below ground at Derinkuyu Underground City, where kitchens, stables, and living quarters reveal how people sheltered beneath the surface.
Bring hiking shoes and your camera: a five-kilometer walk through Rose Valley (Gulludere Vadisi) and a four-kilometer hike through Ihlara Valley give you time to appreciate the terrain on foot. A riverside lunch in Belisirma Village adds a welcome pause. You’ll explore frescoed churches in Soganli Valley and preserved Greek houses in Mustafapasha (Sinassos), too. Itinerary
Day 1Fly to Kayseri/Nevsehir from Istanbul – North Cappadocia Tour
Your day starts early, with pickup from your Istanbul hotel at around 4:00 AM. Pickup covers Taksim, Şişli, Sultanahmet, Eminönü, Fatih, Beşiktaş, Karaköy, and Bakırköy on the European side; outside these areas, you'll need to arrange your own airport transportation. You'll transfer to the airport for your flight to Kayseri or Nevsehir, departing between 6:00 and 7:30 AM. On arrival, our representative will meet you and transfer you to Cappadocia, where you'll meet your guide and fellow travelers for the full-day North Cappadocia tour.
Your first stop is Devrent Valley, with its fairy chimneys and unusual rock formations. Next, you'll explore the mushroom-shaped pinnacles of Pasabag Valley (Monks Valley), then visit Avanos, known for traditional pottery making. Bring hiking shoes for exploring the outdoor sites and a camera for the rock formations. This regular group tour also includes shopping stops.
You'll stop for an included lunch at a local restaurant, with a vegetarian option available upon request. Then you'll explore rock-cut churches and caves at Zelve Open Air Museum, learning about the region's monastic past. Your final sightseeing stop is Uchisar Castle for photos from the surrounding area; entry to the castle is not included in this tour.
At around 4:00 PM, you'll transfer to your Cappadocia hotel for check-in. You'll stay overnight at Heaven Cave House, Zula Cave House, Dedeli Konak Cave Hotel, or a similar standard-quality cave hotel. The rest of the day is free to rest or explore at your own pace.
If you'd like an extra activity, you can choose a traditional Turkish Night show with dinner, a 2-hour ATV tour, a 2-hour horseback riding tour through the valleys, or a 1-hour Whirling Dervish show. Each option costs extra, and time constraints mean you can join only one.

Day 2South Cappadocia Tour
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your Cappadocia hotel at around 9:30 AM. You'll join your fellow travelers for a full-day South Cappadocia tour, starting with a briefing. If you'd like, you can book an optional early-morning hot air balloon ride at an additional cost.
First, you'll explore the rock-cut churches of Red Valley. Then you'll take a 5 km hike through Rose Valley (Gulludere Vadisi). Wear hiking shoes and bring your camera for the valley walk.
Next, you'll visit Cavusin Village to see its historic houses and churches. You'll stop for lunch at around noon, with breakfast and lunch included today. A vegetarian lunch option is available upon request.
After lunch, you'll visit Pigeon Valley (Guvercinlik Vadisi) for views of the valley's rock formations. In the afternoon, you'll explore Ozkonak Underground City, once used as a refuge. The regular group tour also includes shopping stops; the sightseeing order may change, but all listed visits remain included.
At around 4:00 PM, you'll be transferred back to your hotel, with the rest of the day free. You'll stay overnight in Cappadocia at Heaven Cave House, Zula Cave House, Dedeli Konak Cave Hotel, or a similar standard-quality cave hotel.

Day 3Green Cappadocia Tour
After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your Cappadocia hotel at around 9:30 AM for the full-day Green Tour. You'll join your guide and fellow travelers, starting at Esentepe for views across Göreme Valley. Bring your camera for the valley's rock formations.
Next, you'll explore Derinkuyu Underground City, a multi-level complex used as a refuge by early Christians. Its stables, kitchens, and living quarters show how people organized life underground.
At Ihlara Valley, you'll take a 4 km hike past rock-cut churches. Wear hiking shoes for today's walk. Afterward, you'll have an included riverside lunch in Belisirma Village.
The afternoon continues at Selime Monastery, carved into the cliffs. Your final stop is Yaprakhisar for views of the surrounding rock formations. You'll be transferred back to your hotel at around 4:00 PM, with the rest of the day free. You'll spend another night at your cave hotel in Cappadocia.

Day 4Blue Cappadocia Tour - Return to Istanbul
After breakfast, you'll check out of your Cappadocia hotel, with pickup at around 9:30 AM. You'll join your guide and fellow travelers for the Blue Tour, starting at Kaymakli Underground City. Explore four floors open to visitors and see how its underground spaces provided shelter. Wear hiking shoes for walking through the underground passages and sightseeing stops, and bring your camera.
Next, you'll visit Soganli Valley, where rock-cut churches contain frescoes. You'll also stop at Şahinefendi (Sobesos) to see the archaeological site's mosaics. Lunch is included during today's tour.
At Keslik Monastery near Cemil, you'll view frescoes by torchlight. Your final sightseeing stop is Mustafapasha (Sinassos), a former Greek village with preserved Greek houses.
At around 4:00 PM, you'll transfer to Kayseri or Nevsehir Airport for your flight back to Istanbul. You'll arrive back in Istanbul late in the evening, when the tour ends. Transportation from Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) to your Istanbul hotel isn't included.

Day 1 starts with Istanbul hotel pickup at approximately 3:50–4:00 AM, depending on the flight schedule, for a flight to Kayseri or Nevsehir departing between 6:00 and 7:30 AM. Travelers staying on the Anatolian side or outside these districts must arrange their own airport transportation.
Return domestic flights between Istanbul and Kayseri or Nevsehir are included. The stated baggage allowance is 15 kg of checked luggage and one carry-on bag weighing up to 8 kg per person. On arrival in Cappadocia, a representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to meet your tour guide.

- Prepare for a 5 km hike through Rose Valley on Day 2 and a 4 km hike through Ihlara Valley on Day 3. Bring hiking shoes with good grip, a camera, sun protection and layers for changing temperatures during outdoor sightseeing.
- The itinerary visits Ozkonak, Derinkuyu and Kaymakli underground cities. Be prepared for steps and confined underground passages; consider your comfort with enclosed spaces. At Kaymakli, the visit covers the four floors open to visitors.
- The Uchisar Castle stop on Day 1 is for panoramic photographs from the surrounding area; entry to the castle is not included in this tour.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?
If you need to cancel or change your travel dates, you must notify All Istanbul Tours at least 5 days before the tour starts. For a cancellation or date-change request received at least 5 days before the tour starts, the cost of all non-refundable flight and bus tickets will be deducted from the paid balance. For a cancellation or date-change request received less than 5 days before the tour starts, the full amount paid is non-refundable. If a traveler does not appear for the booked service, the reservation is treated as a no-show and the full amount paid is non-refundable.
