Hagia Sophia’s dome, Cappadocia’s cave churches, and the Great Theater at Ephesus give this five-day route three very different perspectives on Turkey. You’ll start and finish in Istanbul, with domestic flights connecting the sightseeing regions. Join your guide and fellow travelers for the Old City’s monuments, then trade palace courtyards for rock-cut rooms and ancient streets.
In Cappadocia, Byzantine frescoes fill the cave churches of Göreme Open-Air Museum. You’ll see the fairy chimneys in Pasabag and descend into Kaymakli Underground City, with a cave hotel stay adding another connection to the landscape. An optional hot air balloon ride offers valley views at an additional cost. At Ephesus, your guide helps connect the Temple of Hadrian, Great Theater, and Trajan Fountain. You’ll also have an hour to browse Sirince Village independently.
We include four nights of accommodation: two in Istanbul, one in Cappadocia, and one in Kusadasi. Four breakfasts, three lunches, and the scheduled airport transfers are included. Expect full sightseeing days, shopping stops, and late-evening flights; the Cappadocia-to-Izmir flight connects through Istanbul. Bring comfortable walking shoes. Your arrival afternoon stays free, giving you room to explore Istanbul at your own pace before the guided touring begins.
When your flight arrives at Istanbul New Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW), we'll meet you at your preferred arrival time. Look for our team at the international arrivals exit, holding a sign with our agency code. From there, we'll transfer you to your hotel in Istanbul for check-in.
The rest of the afternoon is yours to rest or explore on your own. You can keep any walking as light as you like. Bring comfortable shoes if you plan to head out.
For an optional evening out, you can join the Night Cruise on the Bosphorus at an extra cost. The cruise includes dinner and live entertainment as you sail along the Bosphorus Strait. No meals are included in today's base itinerary.
After breakfast, you'll check out at around 8:30 AM and begin your Old City tour with your guide and fellow travelers. Your first stop is Hagia Sophia, with its massive dome and Byzantine mosaics. Wear comfortable shoes for walking through the sights, and bring clothing suitable for mosque visits.
Next, visit the Blue Mosque, known for its blue tiles, followed by the historic Hippodrome. Your guide will explain how chariot races and political gatherings shaped this public space. On Fridays, the Blue Mosque visit is limited to the outside area because of prayer services.
Continue to Topkapi Palace, the former residence of Ottoman sultans, to see its artifact collections. On Tuesdays, when the palace is closed, you'll visit the Basilica Cistern instead. Lunch is included at a stop in the Old City. Afterward, explore the Grand Bazaar, with shops selling crafts, spices, and souvenirs; it closes on Sundays and during religious holidays.
You'll return to your hotel at around 4:30 PM to collect your luggage. From there, you'll transfer directly to the airport in Istanbul for your late evening domestic flight to Kayseri. Pack within the flight allowance: 15 kg of checked luggage and one carry-on weighing up to 8 kg per person.
Upon arrival in Kayseri, our representative will meet you and arrange your transfer to your Cappadocia hotel. You'll spend the night in a cave hotel in Cappadocia.
After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your Cappadocia hotel at around 9:30 AM for your full-day guided tour with fellow travelers. If you'd like an earlier start, you can reserve an optional hot air balloon ride at an additional cost.
Your morning begins at Göreme Open-Air Museum, where cave churches contain Byzantine art and frescoes. At Pigeon Valley, look for pigeon houses carved into the volcanic rock. You'll also stop at Uçhisar for 15 minutes to take photos of the surrounding landscape.
Lunch is included at a local restaurant serving traditional Cappadocian cuisine. In the afternoon, you'll see the Fairy Chimneys in Pasabag and explore the multiple levels of Kaymakli Underground City. Then visit Devrent Valley, known for its animal-shaped rock formations. Wear comfortable shoes for exploring the sites on foot and bring sun protection.
After the tour, we'll transfer you to Kayseri or Nevsehir airport for your flight to Izmir through Istanbul. At Izmir airport, a representative will meet you holding a sign with your name. You'll then transfer to your hotel in Kuşadası for the night.
After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your hotel at around 8:30 AM and meet your guide. You'll set out with fellow travelers for a full-day tour of Ephesus Ancient City Ruins. Your visits include the Temple of Hadrian, Great Theater, and Trajan Fountain. Wear comfortable shoes for walking through the ruins, and bring a hat and sunscreen.
After your included lunch, you'll visit the House of the Virgin Mary, traditionally associated with her later years. We'll pass by the Temple of Artemis, where little remains of this ancient wonder. Next, you'll visit Isa Bey Mosque. Bring clothing that covers your shoulders and knees for the mosque visit.
Then you'll continue to Sirince Village, known for its wine production and traditional village shops. You'll have one hour of free time here, without your guide. Browse the shops and explore the area's foods and wines at your own pace.
At the end of the tour, you'll transfer to Izmir airport for your late evening flight to Istanbul. We'll welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for the night.
After breakfast, you'll check out of your hotel in Istanbul. Please complete hotel check-out before 12:00 noon.
We'll then transfer you to Istanbul International Airport according to your flight details. Keep your passport and flight documents handy for departure.

Walking and clothing: Wear comfortable, supportive shoes for Istanbul sightseeing, Cappadocia and the Ephesus ruins. Prepare for uneven surfaces and steps, including at Kaymakli Underground City. Wear modest clothing for mosque and religious-site visits, and bring layers, sun protection and weather-appropriate outerwear for outdoor sightseeing.

Day 2 covers Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. On Fridays, the Blue Mosque visit is exterior-only. On Tuesdays, the Basilica Cistern replaces Topkapi Palace. The Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays; both the Grand Bazaar and spice market are closed during religious holidays. The sightseeing order may change.
Day 3 includes Göreme Open-Air Museum, Pigeon Valley, a 15-minute photo stop at Uçhisar, the fairy chimneys in Pasabag, Kaymakli Underground City and Devrent Valley. Hotel pickup is around 9:30 AM after breakfast. Following the full-day tour, you transfer to the airport for your flight to Izmir via Istanbul.
Day 4 begins with hotel pickup around 8:30 AM. You visit Ephesus, including the Temple of Hadrian, Great Theater and Trajan Fountain, followed by the House of the Virgin Mary and Isa Bey Mosque, with a pass by the Temple of Artemis. You also have one hour to explore Şirince independently before transferring to Izmir Airport.
Four breakfasts on Days 2–5 and three lunches on Days 2–4 are included. No meals are included on Day 1. Vegetarian lunch is available upon request.
Yes. An optional early-morning hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia is available on Day 3 at an additional cost. On Day 1, you can choose an optional Bosphorus night cruise with dinner and live entertainment, also at an additional cost.
Entrance fees as indicated in the itinerary, local taxes and service charges are included. International flight tickets, the visa to enter Turkey, travel insurance, drinks with dinner and services not mentioned in the program are excluded. Travel insurance is recommended.
If you need to cancel or change your travel dates, you must notify All Istanbul Tours at least 5 days before the tour starts. For a cancellation or date-change request received at least 5 days before the tour starts, the cost of all non-refundable flight and bus tickets will be deducted from the paid balance. For a cancellation or date-change request received less than 5 days before the tour starts, the full amount paid is non-refundable. If a traveler does not appear for the booked service, the reservation is treated as a no-show and the full amount paid is non-refundable.
