Visit Istanbul, Ephesus, Gallipoli, and Troy on this 5-day tour through some of Turkey’s most important historical sites. The journey starts in Istanbul with a full day at the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Grand Bazaar, then continues by flight to Izmir and on to Kuşadası.

From there you explore the ruins of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary, travel to Çanakkale, and spend a day at Troy and the World War I memorials of Gallipoli, including ANZAC Cove and Lone Pine. The tour ends with a transfer back to Istanbul and your departure airport.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Istanbul – Airport Transfer & Free Day

Arrive in Istanbul at any time. Upon your arrival at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW), our representative will be waiting for you at the international arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name. You will then be transferred to your hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the city on your own.

Day 2Full-Day Istanbul Tour – Evening Flight to Izmir

After breakfast and hotel check-out, you will be picked up around 8:30 AM for a full-day guided tour of Istanbul’s most famous landmarks. Begin with a visit to the magnificent Hagia Sophia, followed by the stunning Blue Mosque and the historic Hippodrome.

Continue to the impressive Topkapi Palace, which served as the residence of Ottoman sultans for centuries, and end your day at the vibrant Grand Bazaar, where you can shop for traditional handicrafts, jewelry, and souvenirs. After the tour ends around 4:30 PM, you will be transferred to the airport for your evening flight to Izmir.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Kuşadası for an overnight stay.

Day 3Ephesus Tour – Intercity Bus to Çanakkale

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Kuşadası. At around 8:30 AM, your guide will pick you up for a full-day tour of Ephesus, one of the most significant ancient cities of the Greco-Roman world and early Christianity. During your visit, explore the ruins including the Temple of Hadrian, the Great Theater, and the Trajan Fountain.

After lunch, visit the House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be her final residence. You will also see the remains of the Temple of Artemis and the beautiful Isabey Mosque. After the tour ends around 4:00 PM, return to Kuşadası and have some free time before boarding a public intercity bus to Çanakkale at approximately 6:00 PM.

The journey includes two short breaks for personal needs. Arrival in Çanakkale is expected around 12:30 AM, where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 4Troy and Gallipoli Combination Tour – Evening Transfer to Istanbul

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and be ready for pick-up at 8:30 AM. The day begins with a visit to the legendary Troy Ancient City, where you will see the famous Trojan Horse, the Sacrificial Altars, 3,700-year-old city walls, and remains from Troy I to Troy IX.

After Troy, head to Eceabat for lunch before starting the Gallipoli Tour. This tour covers significant World War I sites including ANZAC Cove, Brighton Beach, Beach Cemetery, Ari Burnu Cemetery, the ANZAC Commemorative Site, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Johnston’s Jolly, the 57th Regiment Turkish Memorial, The Nek, and the Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial.

After the tour ends around 4:30 PM, return to Eceabat. Around 6:00 PM, depart for Istanbul. Upon arrival late in the evening, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in.

What should I wear when visiting the Blue Mosque?

As the Blue Mosque is an active place of worship, modest dress is required for all visitors. Both men and women should cover their shoulders and knees, and women are asked to cover their hair with a scarf, which is usually available at the entrance. Please also note the Blue Mosque is not open for interior visits on Fridays due to prayer services, when only the exterior can be viewed.

How long is the journey from Kuşadası to Çanakkale?

On Day 3, after your Ephesus tour, you will board a public intercity bus from Kuşadası to Çanakkale at approximately 6:00 PM. The journey takes around six and a half hours with two short comfort breaks along the way, arriving in Çanakkale around 12:30 AM. Our representative will be waiting to meet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

Which hotels will I be staying in during the tour?

In Istanbul you will stay two nights at the Antea Hotel Oldcity, Muyan Suites or Deluxe Golden Horn Hotel or similar (4-star/special class). In Kuşadası you will spend one night at the Efe Boutique Hotel, Neopol Hotel Deluxe or Derici Hotel or similar (4-star), and in Çanakkale one night at the Grand Anzac Hotel or Helen Hotel or similar (3-star). All accommodation includes breakfast.

Are lunches and entrance fees included in the tour?

Yes, lunches are included on Days 2, 3 and 4 during your guided tours, and breakfast is provided every morning at your hotels. Entrance fees to all sites mentioned in the itinerary, such as Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Ephesus, Troy and the Gallipoli memorials, are also included. Dinners, drinks and any optional tours are not included and can be arranged separately.

For cancellations or date changes made less than 5 days before the start date, no refund will be issued and the booking will be treated under our no-show policy.
