Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Istanbul, Airport Transfer and Free Day

When your flight arrives at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW), we'll meet you at the international arrivals exit. Our representative will hold a sign with our agency code so you can identify them. After a brief welcome, we'll transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is yours, with no guided sightseeing scheduled. You can rest after your flight or explore independently, depending on your arrival time. Walking is entirely optional today; comfortable shoes are useful for Istanbul's hills and uneven sidewalks.

For an optional evening out, you can book the Night Cruise on the Bosphorus at an extra cost. You'll see the waterfront along the Bosphorus Strait, with dinner and live entertainment included in the cruise price. Bring a light layer if you plan to spend time on deck.

No meals are included in today's tour package. If you skip the cruise, you can choose a local restaurant for dinner at your own expense, perhaps trying köfte, Turkish meatballs. You'll stay overnight in Istanbul.

  • Overnight in Istanbul.
  • Included Meal(s): None

Day 2Istanbul Byzantine and Ottoman Relics Tour

After breakfast, you'll meet your guide and fellow travelers at around 8:30 AM before setting out to explore Istanbul. We'll pick you up from your hotel for this full-day guided tour. Your first stop is Hagia Sophia, completed in 537 AD as a cathedral. It later became a mosque, then a museum, and today serves as a mosque again.

Next, you'll visit the Blue Mosque, known for its blue Iznik tiles and six minarets. It's an active mosque, so visits work around prayer times. You'll then explore the Byzantine Hippodrome, once the setting for chariot races. Your guide will explain the Obelisk of Theodosius, Serpent Column, and German Fountain.

You'll stop for an included Turkish lunch at a local restaurant; breakfast is also included today. The menu varies, so specific dishes aren't guaranteed. After lunch, explore the courtyards and treasury displays of Topkapi Palace, home to Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years. The Harem, the family's private quarters, is an optional visit rather than a guaranteed stop.

Your final stop is the Grand Bazaar, with covered lanes selling carpets, ceramics, and gold. Expect several hours of walking and standing throughout the day, including uneven paving and crowded entrances. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing covering your shoulders and knees; women should bring a headscarf for mosque visits. Carry water and sun protection, especially in warmer months.

We'll transfer you back to your hotel at around 5:00 PM, with the evening free. You can choose a local restaurant for dinner at your own expense. You'll stay overnight in Istanbul.

  • Overnight in Istanbul.
  • Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Lunch

Day 3Bosphorus Cruise - Fly from Istanbul to Denizli

After breakfast, you'll meet your guide and fellow travelers at around 8:30 AM before exploring Istanbul by market and water. We'll pick you up from your hotel for this half-day morning tour. Your first stop is the Spice Bazaar, also called the Egyptian Bazaar. You'll see stalls selling dried peppers, Turkish delight, teas, and ground spices.

Next, you'll board a shared boat to cruise along the Bosphorus Strait, separating Europe and Asia. It connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara. From the water, you'll see Dolmabahce Palace, Beylerbeyi Palace, and the Bosphorus Bridge. Watch for shoreline fortresses and wooden waterfront mansions, too.

Expect light walking through the market and to the boat, with potentially crowded bazaar aisles. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a light jacket for the breeze on deck. Breakfast is included; lunch and dinner are at your own expense. A simit, Turkey's sesame-covered bread ring, makes a practical snack to buy before your airport transfer.

You'll return to your hotel at around 12:15 PM to collect your luggage. We'll then transfer you to the airport for your flight to Denizli, lasting approximately 1.5 hours. On arrival, we'll pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Pamukkale. You'll stay overnight in Pamukkale.

  • Overnight in Pamukkale.
  • Included Meal(s): Breakfast

Day 4Pamukkale and Hierapolis Tour

After breakfast, you'll meet your guide and fellow travelers at around 10:30 AM before setting out to explore Pamukkale and Hierapolis. Check out beforehand, as we'll pick you up from your hotel with your luggage. Your first stop is Karahayit Red Springs, where thermal water leaves reddish mineral deposits.

Next, you'll explore Hierapolis, an ancient city built beside the thermal springs. Your route includes the Necropolis, Roman Baths, and Domitian Gate. You'll also visit the Agora, Triton Fountain, Plutonium, and Theater.

We'll stop at a local restaurant for your included lunch; breakfast is included today, too. After lunch, you'll have one hour of free time to explore Pamukkale. You can choose a swim in the Cleopatra Antique Pools, subject to opening conditions and at your own expense. Bring a swimsuit and towel if you'd like to swim.

Then, meet your guide and fellow travelers at the designated meeting point for the Cotton Cliffs walk. Mineral-rich water has formed these white travertine terraces, and you'll remove your shoes on permitted terrace sections. Expect substantial walking over uneven stone, slopes, and potentially slippery wet surfaces throughout the day. Wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for the exposed ruins.

The tour ends at around 4:00 PM, followed by your transfer to Kusadasi. Allow roughly three and a half hours, arriving at around 7:30 PM for hotel check-in and your overnight stay. Your evening is free, so you can choose a local restaurant for dinner at your own expense.

  • Overnight in Kusadasi.
  • Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Lunch

Day 5Ephesus Tour - Fly to Kayseri/Nevsehir from Izmir

After breakfast, you'll meet your guide and fellow travelers at around 8:30 AM before setting out to explore Ephesus. You'll check out of your hotel before pickup, bringing your luggage for tonight's flight. Breakfast and lunch are included today; dinner is at your own expense.

We'll start at the Temple of Hadrian at Ephesus, looking closely at its carved arch. You'll follow Curetes Street past former shops and monuments, then visit the Great Theatre Ephesus. Its stone seating once accommodated roughly 25,000 spectators. Next, your guide will explain the Trajan Fountain, dedicated to the Roman emperor Trajan.

Expect substantial walking over uneven marble, with steps, limited shade, and crowds at the main ruins. Wear comfortable shoes with grip, and bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. We'll stop for Turkish cuisine at a local restaurant for your included lunch; the menu varies.

After lunch, you'll visit the House of the Virgin Mary, traditionally believed to be where Mary spent her final years. A brief stop at the Temple of Artemis reveals scattered remains and a reconstructed column. Your final visit is Isa Bey Mosque, built in 1375, with its courtyard and carved stonework. Wear clothing covering shoulders and knees, and bring a scarf for head covering if needed.

Sightseeing ends at around 4:00 PM, followed by your transfer to Izmir Airport. You'll take a late-evening flight to Kayseri or Nevsehir, connecting via Istanbul. On arrival, our representative will meet you holding a sign with your name. We'll transfer you to your hotel for check-in and an overnight in Cappadocia.

  • Overnight in Cappadocia.
  • Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Lunch

Day 6North Cappadocia Tour

After breakfast, you'll meet your guide and fellow travelers at around 9:30 AM before setting out to explore North Cappadocia. We'll pick you up from your hotel for this full-day tour. If you'd like an earlier start, you can book an optional hot air balloon ride at extra cost, weather permitting.

You'll start at Devrent Valley, where eroded rocks resemble animals, including a camel. Next, Pasabag Valley (Monks Valley) brings you closer to mushroom-shaped pinnacles with broad stone caps. Expect moderate walking over uneven paths throughout the day, with some slopes and steps. Wear comfortable shoes with grip, and bring water, sunscreen, and a hat for exposed stretches.

We'll drive to Avanos, a town known for pottery made from local clay, for your included lunch. Breakfast and lunch are included today; the lunch menu varies. Afterward, you'll explore Zelve Open Air Museum, a former cave settlement with rock-cut homes and churches. Your guide will explain how religious life and daily routines shared these carved spaces.

Your final stop gives you about 15 minutes to photograph Uchisar Castle from outside. This is an exterior-only stop, with no entry to the castle's interior. The tour ends at around 4:00 PM, and we'll transfer you back to your hotel.

The rest of your day is free, with an overnight in Cappadocia. Optional extras include a two-hour ATV tour, a two-hour horseback ride, or a one-hour Whirling Dervish show. A Turkish Night show with dinner, Turkish music, and folk dances is also available at extra cost. Otherwise, you can choose a local restaurant for dinner at your own expense.

  • Overnight in Cappadocia.
  • Included Meal(s): Breakfast and Lunch

Day 7South Cappadocia Tour - Fly back to Istanbul

After breakfast, you'll meet your guide and fellow travelers at around 9:30 AM before setting out to explore South Cappadocia. Check out before we pick you up from your hotel, bringing your luggage for tonight's flight. Your guide will explain the day's route before sightseeing begins.

We'll start in Red Valley, exploring rock-cut churches before hiking approximately 5 km through Rose Valley (Gulludere Vadisi). Expect uneven paths, so wear sturdy walking shoes and bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. Next, you'll visit Cavusin Village, with its old houses and churches linked to former Christian communities.

We'll stop at around noon for your included lunch; the menu will depend on the day's restaurant. Breakfast is also included today, while dinner is at your own expense. After lunch, you'll visit Pigeon Valley (Guvercinlik Vadisi), where dovecotes were carved into the rock.

In the afternoon, you'll explore either Kaymakli Underground City or Ozkonak Underground City. These underground spaces sheltered Christian communities during periods of danger. You'll encounter narrow passages, low ceilings, and steps, so tell your guide if enclosed spaces concern you.

The tour finishes at around 3:30 PM, followed by your transfer to Kayseri or Nevsehir airport. You'll take a late-evening flight to Istanbul; there may be a wait before departure. On arrival, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You'll stay overnight in Istanbul.

  • Cappadocia hot air balloon rides are optional, booked and paid for separately, and subject to weather and aviation approval. A scheduled ride is not guaranteed to operate; confirm cancellation and refund terms before booking.
  • For Istanbul mosque visits, cover shoulders and knees; women should carry a headscarf. Remove shoes where required in prayer areas. Tourist access may pause during prayers, particularly Friday midday prayers, so visit times can change.
  • Expect substantial walking over uneven marble, cobblestones, slopes and steps at Ephesus, Hierapolis and Cappadocia. Wear supportive, grippy shoes; Cappadocia underground-city passages, if visited, can be narrow and require bending.
  • At Pamukkale, shoes must be removed on designated travertine walking sections. Carry a bag for your shoes and walk carefully on wet, slippery surfaces; access is restricted to permitted areas.
  • Summer sightseeing at Ephesus and Pamukkale can be intensely hot with limited shade. Carry drinking water, sunscreen and a hat; Cappadocia mornings can be cool even when afternoons are hot.
  • April–May and September–October generally offer comfortable conditions across this route. Bring layers for Istanbul's breezy Bosphorus cruise and Cappadocia's cooler mornings; winter can bring snow and transport disruption in Cappadocia.
  • Use Turkish lira for everyday purchases and carry small notes for markets, toilets and tips. Cards are widely accepted but not universal. Tipping is discretionary: around 5–10% is customary for good restaurant service when no service charge is included; guide and driver tips are also appreciated.
